Description
Vitax granular garden lime is an easy to use product having all the advantages of a pellet, yet dispersing readily soon after application, making it a useful supplement to other fertilisers.
Neutralises acid (sour) soils enabling beneficial soil bacteria to flourish and release the plant foods locked in by acid soils.
Improves the drainage of heavy, sour, clay soils making them more friable and easier to work.
Eliminates the conditions under which club root disease in cabbages and other brassicas thrive.
Easy to handle, low dust granule.
Directions for use
Acid Soils: Apply annually, preferably from September onwards, at the rate of 200-400 gm/sq metre, (6-12 oz per square yard).
Normal Soils: Apply every two or three years at the rate of 200 gm/sq metre (6 oz per square yard).
Home Composting: Use Granular Garden Lime to speed up the composting of garden waste. For an open compost heap for each 20cm (8 inches) of garden waste sprinkle 60g per square metre (2 oz/sq yd) of garden lime followed by a further 20cm (8 inches) garden waste then 60g per square metre (2 oz/sq yd) sulphate of ammonia or dried blood. Repeat until the heap is 1.2m (4ft) high then cover and allow to compost.
