A reuseable, fully lockable plastic bait station for use with all Rentokil baits. Used for the control of rats in and around buildings to keep poisons away from children and pets.
Directions for use
Remove the red key from the recess at the back of the bait station. To open, insert the plastic key into the keyhole and turn slightly. A quarter turn should be enough to open the lid. It is now ready to add bait or traps.
The bait station can accommodate any Rentokil bait. Whole grain bait sachets can be placed inside the divided-off section inside the box or pushed onto the metal bar. Pasta sachets should be pushed firmly onto the horizontal metal bar to secure them in place, the bar is held firm once the box is closed. Bait blocks can be pushed onto the same metal bar by using the hole in the centre of the block.
The bait station can also be used to hold Rentokil advanced rat traps if you prefer to use traps inside. First bait the trap using a suitable bait (such as the Rentokil Mouse and Trap Bait), then position the trap inside with the pedal towards the front of the bait station; use two small plastic tabs to hold the trap securely. Once in position, press down carefully on the setting bar until it locks in place with the red kill bar raised.
To secure the bait station, close the lid firmly; it is now locked and ready to use. It there is a trap inside, it's recommended placing the box down first before closing the lid carefully to avoid setting the trap off.
Location of bait stations
Bait stations should be placed where rats have been seen or have been feeding, e.g. in garages, behind furniture or in loft spaces indoors; or in sheds, under decking or in protected locations where rats are running or feeding outdoors.
Checking bait stations
Place the bait station in the infested area at intervals suggested by the bait label, more than one may be needed. It's recommended to check baits regularly during the first 7-10 days, although in some situations daily inspections may be necessary. Search for and remove dead rats at frequent intervals during treatment, if used outdoors then make sure you look for and remove any bait fragments before children or pets are allowed back into the baiting area. Remove all baits after treatment and dispose of them in accordance with local requirements.
