Description

This Bulrush Grow Bag is specially formulated for growing crops such as tomatoes, peppers, aubergines, courgettes, cucumbers, melons and strawberries.

This bag contains all the vital plant nutrients to give tomatoes and other salad crops the best possible start in life and is produced for optimum moisture retention and protection from soil borne diseases.

Once the crop is finished, the contents of the bag may be used as a soil conditioner in the garden. It is not recommended to re-use the contents for growing in containers.

Now enhanced with forest gold to deliver stronger, healthier plants.

What is Forest Gold?
Forest Gold is a timber derived additive produced from wood chips sourced from responsibly managed forests. Forest Gold is impregnated with nutrients to provide a slow release fertiliser source to all crops for healthy root development and superior plant growth. In extensive trials Bulrush found that plants perform better in Forest Gold mixes than in conventional 100% peat mixes.

Directions for use
- Shake the bag to distribute the compost evenly through the bag.

- When growing tomatoes cut 3 ovals as indicated on the front face of the bag.

- When planting courgettes, cucumbers, marrows and melons it is recommended to plant only 2 plants per bag.

- Slit each side of the bags in 3 evenly spaced places approx 2cm above ground level for drainage.

- Ensure the compost is moist before planting.

- Carefully insert one plant into each hole, taking care to avoid root damage.

- With tomatoes, delay planting until the 1st flower is formed.

Watering Instructions
Water thoroughly through the holes. Depending on the moisture content of the bag when planting up, it may be necessary to add up to 5 litres of water at the first watering. The bag is moist enough when the water just runs out, if a handful of compost is gently squeezed. Avoid water logging of the bag.

Plant care tips
After planting check the bag daily and water as needed. Never allow the compost to dry out. Train the plants as they grow to maximise light penetration and air circulation. To improve the quality and yield of each crop feed with liquid tomato feed after about 3-4 weeks.

Unsuitable for ericaceous (lime hating) plants.

Helpful gardening tips
