Description
Rentokill tunnel mole trap. A traditional design mole trap, ideal for catching moles in shallow or deep runs.
Directions for use
1. First, locate the mole run and carefully dig out just enough soil for the trap to fit inside the run.
2. Use gloves if necessary as edges can be sharp. Carefully press down one of the setting arm hoops so that it is flat against the top of the tunnel. Pull the setting pin at the end of the trap up over the setting arm and bring it towards the hook at the top of the trigger arm near the spring. Link the two hooks together to set the trap. Do not put your fingers inside the hoop under the trap.
3. Repeat point two with the second hoop, taking care not to set the first hoop off - watch your fingers.
4. Gently place the trap into the mole run, orientated along the line of the run, ensuring there is enough space for the trap arm hoops to go off.
5. Cover the hole around the trap gently so that all light is excluded. If you have removed the turf above, try and replace this as carefully as possible. Mark the location of the trap to make it easier to check. Traps should be checked daily. Moles should pass by on their regular inspections and will get caught in the hoops.
Tips - Gloves should be worn during setting. Always place this trap in a mole run, not the mole hill. Avoid leaving your scent on this trap during use - soap and other strong odours may put moles off. Keep the trap lubricated with odourless oil if it gets stiff or before storing for long periods of time.
Disposal - To dispose of mole bodies, double-bag and place them in a bin with a secure lid.
